Self-Love is a practice in which you give yourself adequate love, care, and the attention that it needs. You make yourself a top priority and will not settle for less than what you believe you deserve. 

What does self-love look like?

You know if you are correctly practicing self-love is when you can appreciate yourself for the good, bad, and not so pretty.

You have a healthy amount of self-esteem and confidence

Everything that you need you can give to yourself and are not depending on others to give to you. 

You can regulate your emotions and bounce back up from set back and downfalls. 

You can co-exist with others in a healthy and balanced way, your relationships have a mutuality of equal give and take. 

You enjoy both socializing and time alone. In your alone time, you do not feel lonely or sad. 

How to know that it’s time to practice more self-Love

  • When you feel overwhelmed by negative emotions (sadness, anger, depression, etc.)
  • When you feel burned out
  • Low self-esteem/ insecure
  • Changes in diet and sleep patterns
  • Easily irritable/ lack patience
  • Lack of motivation or enthusiasm for life
  • You become isolated from the outside world
  • Co-dependency
  • People-pleasing tendencies
  • Health has declined
  • You feel that you have to wear a mask in front of others
  • You feel that life and or others have treated you unjust and unfair

Self-Love practices you can add to your routine:

Be able to accept who you are right now even if you want to be different tomorrow.

Affirmation: ‘’I might not be the best version of myself today, but I am still worthy.’’

Choosing a balanced lifestyle in all that you do.

Affirmation: ‘’I love myself enough to give or limit myself things in life to achieve the best life I can possibly live.’’

The quality mindset

Affirmation: ‘’I give myself the best quality of life because I deserve it!’’

Love yourself everyday

Affirmation: ‘’I have all that I need within to be able to love myself.’’

Attitude of gratitude

Affirmation: ‘’I am appreciative of life and am grateful for …’’

A Time of Rest

Affirmation: ‘’I give myself enough time to rest and relax so that I can perform as my best self.’’

I choose to live as my authentic self

Affirmation: ’I choose to be authentic towards myself and others.’’

Forgive yourself often

Affirmation: ‘’I forgive myself for the mistakes I have made. These mistakes have helped me grow and become wiser.’’
